Bought my Strat just prior to 1991, but cannot find the paperwork. The dealership hasn't any records that far back. Fender rep on the phone couldn't go back farther than 1993. My internet research has at least supplied me with the model: 25-4400. It's a white [has since yellowed nicely] model, with just one humbucker, that toggles to a single coil. TBX tone is also employed. Kahler [Floyd Rose licensed] locking tremolo was standard as well. While its in pretty darn good shape, I always disliked the output level drop when switching from humbucker to single coil. And now I see lot's of adds for Fender style single coil pickups that claim to be louder/hotter and quieter. Additionally, Ive not been able to find a schematic diagram of the guitars' original wiring [concerned that the TBX capacitor/resistor values may have been changed from original design]. I think the pickup is a DiMarzio [from reading on the net], but may just have to disassemble the guitar to possibly find a part number. Opinions and/or information would be greatly appreciated. Ron

ClickyThat should do the trick. What's the serial number on the back of the headstock? There's the Made in the USA or Japan thread on the main forum page that will help ID it. Since you said it's a single humbucker, sounds like it's made in Japan. Does the Strat logo on the head have the script don't with swoosh under it? (Like my avatar pic)
