Well, while I was trying to change the neck pocket to fit the HM neck, I discovered I did a few things in the wrong order initially, so I had to delete a bunch of stuff and start over.
The way I did it this time should be easier to modify for different necks in the future, like a stock Strat/Squier neck.
After all, there's only going to be so many people interested in buying an HM body...
So, I'd post screenshots, but it basically looks the same as it did above.
I'll put some serious time into during the week.

Alright, I have the cash to make this bad boy...
I'm going to knock out some serious design this week and maybe I can have it done soon.
Weekdays are out of the question for machine time, as all the machines are full, but Friday I could knock one out after I'm done working. ;D

I'm still waiting for pre-order form from "Bo's Aluminum Guitars".

Whoa! Bo is on a Roll.
Sounds like a great idea to see about setting these up to accommodate other guitar necks eventually. Will be looking forward to more pictures!

Now I wish I wouldn't have slacked so much on design these past few weeks...
Plus, I'm building a computer for a guy at work this week. Parts should be here about Tuesday. That should only kill one evening though.
Anyone want to make me an offer on the first one? If so, you can decide which pickup/knob configuration you want...
Keep in mind, this first one will be a 6 piece body...
I won't be able to make a 2 piece until I sell the first one.
If no one wants this one, I will put it on eBay and see how much it goes for.

Goody...substantial progress tonight.
I still have lots to do, but the critical parts are in the right spots.
I WILL be posting more this week... ;D

I split the body into 6 pieces and started "shelling" it out.
The one thing that has perplexed me about this body, because of the trem, is how to secure the spring retainer...
It's easy to mash a couple of holes into a wooden body in a shallow pocket at a right angle, but not so with metal. ;D
Notice in the pics above, that the retainer is not "attached" to the body yet.
I've got a plan, and it's quite unique. ;D

Does your plan involve sledgehammers and duct tape?
J/K. Waiting to see what you come up with!

It will be cool, if it works.
We'll find out tonight.

Wow, seriously clever stuff. I'm an engineer by trade and use a machining centre on a regular basis, but this is way out of my league Bo! Look forward to seeing the finished product, if I come into any money you'll be getting an order from me too!

Sounds good to me stratznhatz. ;D
Alright, spring retainer issue solved...
I added a few cuts under the top plate, that protrude into the trem cavity to allow access to a threaded block.
This unique feature will be completely hidden by the top plate of the body, and a trem cover. VICTORY!!
A few more alignment holes to add tomorrow and I can start programming for machining... ;D

Hmm...I thought that was pretty clever.

95% shelled out, just need to add the alignment holes between the bottom plates, and add rounds to the outside of the body.
Then I can program and make the parts. I'm a bit behind on my schedule.

I'm sure it's well-thought out, Bo, I'm just not smart enough to understand what you did there!
Great to see it progressing. You sure don't waste any time!
