LOL Gotcha. The issue was, getting these two holes into the metal body. At a 90 degree angle, into a shallow pocket...
I solved that by adding the cuts on the topside of the bottom plate (See first pic below) and adding a small threaded block inside the cut (see pics above). ;D
Anyway, I programmed 4 of the 6 files today, and a buddy of mine at work made these two parts for me while I was programming. What a dude!
And yes, you are correct. Once I get in gear to make something happen, um...I make it happen.

Bo, you certainly don't waste any time! Looks like you just made an aluminium Steinberger lol! Seriously though, great work and much respect.

LOL Yeah, I could actually string it up and play it acoustically if I would have remembered to make the little block that holds the springs. oh my god, this looks amazing! Just out of curiosity, what type of pickups are you gonna put in there? I'm using all the hardware from my Purple HM. Basically swapping the original HM body for this one.
The only thing that's not stock is the neck humbucker, which is currently an ESP LH-150, although I have a couple of Ibanez V2's and I might use one of them for the neck. Not sure yet.
Thanks much for the kind remarks guys! It really makes my day!

I was gonna say it looked like a Steinberger too, but Stratznhats beat me to it! Nice workmanship! It's especially impressive because you had to get it right the first time - aluminum doesn't let you fix mistakes as easy as wood does!

Yeah, I didn't do any test pieces this time, just hoped my measurements were right.
Aluminum, yes, you can take more off, but it's hard to put it back! LOL
I did have a "GAK" tonight, and I may remake the top plate.
Somehow I moved the topside trem pocket forward a bit too much, so the stringlock bolts were hitting the top of the body.
So, I reworked it and moved the pocket back a bit, but I forgot that I had a pocket on the underside, so there's a slot there...bummer.
First two pics are of the "GAK"...otherwise, going good.

All done except for polish. ;D
10 pounds even (same as the first guitar), and that's pretty good considering this body is 1/4" thicker than the first, and that trem hardware is HEAVY...

That's pretty sick, Bo! Looks like it came out great! Have you plugged it in yet?

It's wired, but I forgot the input jack hole.
I need shorter spring bolts also, as I can't tune it up to 440 while keeping the trem flat.

That sucks. You get so close and then two little things hold you back.
I reconfigured my recording setup today, got all ready to hook it into the laptop so I could record until I get a new desktop hooked up. Finished it and then discovered my laptop doesn't have a serial port big enough for the external soundcard/recording interface. D'Oh!

Technically, I didn't "forget" the hole as stated, it just got late and I didn't get to it.
It took 3 laborious days, ranging from 4-6 hours each day to make the parts...
I know this for sure, machining 6 pieces to make these bodies is NOT the way to go.
I'll sell one of these to make enough money to buy 2 larger pieces, and make them the way I originally intended.
