So you were right the first time (with the 2-piece design). That's always cool!

SWEETER THAN HELL.
Re: making the Spyder sit flat, apparently they are not supposed to, they are supposed to float at an angle. A few degrees at least, according to the manual that came with the Peavey Vandenburg's and their Spyders.
Do not know if you knew that!
I discovered it on my own wondering why my HMs were so stiff feeling, then realised they didn't have to lie flat like Floyds. Since then I get the proper shortscale feel on 'em now.

Cool, thanks, I did not know that!
Do you have a copy of a diagram or something?
How much exactly are we talking?

Oh man...I have good news and bad news...
The good news...I got the jack hole drilled and wired, set a tish of micro tilt on the neck (yes, Micro Tilt, just like an HM!) and it plays like a champ!
Other than the buzzy neck, but that's not my body's fault. ;D
Full dive bombs and stays in perfect tune! Woohoo!
The bad news...I need one of these: kahlerparts.com/Part_Pages/8700.htm
It's just shot. The trem arm is sooo sloppy. Bummer, but I already knew that.
I already replaced the one on my white HM, so I know this will cure it.
Anyway, success! Now I just need to muster some ambition for polishing...

Cool! Nuthin' is as sweet as a trem that stays in tune! Good job. How many springs do you have on it and how are they arranged?

What's that right hand module thingie, Bo? Have you tried Allen key in the tremarm tension adjustment hole? Here is the manual for the Vandy: www.euronet.nl/~wat/frames/peaveysignature.pdfOn page two of the manual is says 5 to 8 degrees is the correct pitch. I can't copy and paste from PDFs anymore for some reason but it is there!

Have you tried Allen key in the tremarm tension adjustment hole? The "Right Hand Module" is the piece that bolts to the trem, that the trem arm threads into.
I think the threads are shot and loose.
Plus, the trem is missing the brass collar in the top of the arm pocket, so tightening the Allen Key would destroy the threads at the top of my trem arm.
The looseness could be just the module, or it could be a combination of the module and the missing brass insert. Not sure, but I know the Right Hand Module comes with a new brass insert. On page two of the manual is says 5 to 8 degrees is the correct pitch. Very nice, thanks! Saved...
That's about where I have it.
Basically, you want the Fine Tuners flat with the body.

Basically, you want the Fine Tuners flat with the body. Affirmative! Parallel to the top of the guitar body. Still waiting on my order form for the two piece FR HM body.

Still waiting on my order form for the two piece FR HM body. I need $200 worth of material, and a Floyd first...

How 'bout a Kahler Steeler? I have a spare one of these I could loan you for your reference. The Steeler is an upgraded Floyd found on the HM Ultra. It is a better design & made with better material IMO than any Floyd. Let me know. ;D

Once I get my Floyd from my buddy, and have a 2 piece HM made for myself, you can send me whichever trem you want me to use on your 2 piece HM body.
Sound good?
